Full Mouth Reconstruction in North Hills, CA

Encino care south of North Hills, with a periodontist and oral surgeons on our team.

The short answer

Yes, North Hills patients come to Los Angeles for full mouth reconstruction. It usually suits adults whose teeth are worn, broken or missing across both arches and who are healthy enough for routine dental care. Dr. Faraz Farahnik examines you first and puts the full plan in writing before anything is scheduled.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Is full mouth reconstruction in North Hills worth the commitment?

It can be, when many teeth are failing at once and piecemeal repairs keep breaking down. It is a large commitment of time, visits and cost, and you should weigh it with the full plan in front of you.

The case for it is coordination: the teeth are designed to meet evenly and share the load. The case against is that some steps, like shaping teeth for crowns, can't be undone. Dr. Farahnik lays out both sides, along with smaller options, before you agree to anything.

How do temporaries let you test the new bite?

Dr. Farahnik first makes the planned shapes in provisional, or trial, restorations. You wear them for a period to chew, speak and smile with the new bite before anything goes into final materials.

What you're checking

Does chewing feel even? Do certain sounds come out clearly? Do you like how the teeth look in photos and in the mirror? Your feedback guides adjustments. Once the trial teeth feel right, they become the blueprint the lab copies for the final work.

Is a reconstruction still possible if you grind your teeth?

It is, and grinding is one of the most common reasons teeth wear down enough to need rebuilding. The plan has to account for those heavy forces.

Restoring the teeth doesn't stop the habit. Dr. Farahnik may include a custom night guard to protect the new work and will check how the surfaces are wearing at your regular visits. Ignoring grinding is one of the quickest ways to shorten the life of new restorations.

How do parents and caregivers in North Hills manage the schedule?

By booking the longer visits for times when someone else can cover at home, and keeping the short checks flexible. A phased plan makes that easier than one marathon.

Tell us about school runs or caregiving hours when you book. We'll try to place the longer appointments around them. Because the office is about 12 minutes from North Hills in light traffic, a short check doesn't need to eat half the day.

What are the trade-offs when implants are part of the plan?

Implants add surgical steps and healing time, and they need healthy bone. In return, they can replace missing teeth without relying on neighboring teeth for support.

Some patients choose bridges or a removable partial instead, which avoid surgery but have their own limits. Dr. Farahnik compares the options for each gap, so you can weigh comfort, time and upkeep for yourself.

Are there foods to avoid with new restorations?

Use common sense with very hard foods. Chewing ice, cracking nuts with your teeth or biting hard candy can chip natural teeth and restorations alike.

Most people return to a normal diet. Sticky sweets and frequent sugary drinks raise decay risk at the edges of crowns, so limit those where you can. Dr. Farahnik may give specific advice for your restorations.

How do you find out what your own plan would cost?

Book the planning visit. Dr. Farahnik examines your teeth and gums, takes records and designs a plan around what you need.

The fee reflects that plan: which teeth are treated, the materials, preparation such as gum therapy, the lab work and any foundations or protective appliances. Nothing is started until you've seen it.

What affects the cost? How many teeth are treated, which materials are used, and what preparation or supporting care your plan needs.

Dr. Farahnik works with all budgets and price ranges. You'll receive a written treatment plan and fee after your exam.

Questions

Frequently asked questions from North Hills patients about rebuilding teeth

Didn't find your question? Call (818) 658-9285. Our full-mouth page

Should I save my teeth or replace them with a full-arch bridge?

It depends on how many teeth are sound, your bone and your health. Some plans save natural teeth, some replace an arch on implants, and some do one of each. Dr. Farahnik compares the options for your mouth.

I grind my teeth. Can I still have a reconstruction?

Yes. Grinding is a common cause of the wear that leads to one. The plan accounts for it, and a custom night guard usually protects the new restorations afterward.

What does a full-mouth rebuild usually include?

It depends on your teeth. Common parts are treatment for decay and gum disease, replacement of failing fillings or crowns, onlays or crowns on worn teeth, veneers in the smile zone and implants where teeth are missing.

What is a full mouth reconstruction?

It's a coordinated plan to restore most or all of the teeth in both jaws so they look, feel and work well together. It usually combines several treatments, such as gum care, crowns, onlays, veneers and sometimes implants, done in planned phases.

Can a dentist near North Hills handle my routine cleanings?

Yes, if you prefer. Dr. Farahnik can share records and will still want to check the reconstruction himself at key points.
