Which dental services change how my smile looks?
Cosmetic dental services at our Encino practice change the color, shape or line of your teeth. Which one fits depends on how much change you want and how healthy your teeth are now. The ADA's glossary of dental terms defines many of the treatment names used on this page.
- Porcelain Veneers: lab-made ceramic shells bonded over the front of your teeth to change color, shape, size or length. Most need a thin layer of enamel removed first, and you can't reverse that step.
- Composite Veneers: tooth-colored resin sculpted directly on your teeth, usually with little or no enamel removed. Composite is simpler to repair than porcelain but picks up stains and chips more readily over the years.
- Teeth Whitening: professional bleaching of natural teeth, in the chair or at home with trays made for you. Veneers, crowns and fillings keep their color, and teeth may feel sensitive for a short time.
- Cosmetic Dentistry: the overview of every appearance-focused option we offer, including bonding and reshaping, and how Dr. Farahnik chooses between them.
- Smile Makeover: a single coordinated plan for when several things need to change at once, which might mix whitening, aligners, veneers or implants.

Can you straighten teeth without braces?
Often, yes, with clear aligners: removable trays that shift teeth in small stages. Dr. Farahnik decides at your exam whether aligners suit your bite.
- Invisalign and Clear Aligners: clear removable trays that move teeth gradually, one set after another. Lining teeth up first can sometimes mean less tooth needs covering later, or no veneers at all.

How do you replace missing or badly damaged teeth?
Dr. Farahnik replaces missing teeth with implants, and with a planned rebuild when many teeth need work. Dr. Farahnik places implants himself, with a periodontist and oral surgeons on our in-house team.
- Dental Implants: a post set in the jawbone takes the place of a missing tooth's root and holds a crown on top.
- All-on-X Full-Arch Implants: a fixed arch of teeth held by a small group of implants. It suits people missing most or all teeth in one jaw, or whose remaining teeth are beyond saving.
- Full Mouth Reconstruction: rebuilding the teeth in both jaws, usually in planned phases, after heavy wear, many broken or missing teeth, or bite trouble.
