The short answer

Full mouth reconstruction in Sylmar can combine bonding, onlays, crowns, veneers and implants, depending on what each tooth needs. Sylmar patients head south to Los Angeles for it. Dr. Farahnik places implants himself, with a periodontist and oral surgeons on our in-house team, and the written fee follows your exam.

Can full mouth reconstruction in Sylmar be done in stages?

Yes, and most are. Dr. Farahnik treats decay and gum disease first, establishes the new bite, and then places final restorations one section at a time.

Staging has practical benefits for Sylmar patients. It spreads the visits over a longer period, gives each phase time to settle, and can spread the fee as well. Your written plan shows each stage in order, so you always know what comes next and why.

Who should think twice because of sensitivity?

Patients with very sensitive teeth should raise it early. Teeth prepared for crowns or onlays can be sensitive afterward, and the plan can be shaped to limit that.

Dr. Farahnik keeps as much sound tooth structure as he can, which helps protect the nerve. Where bonding or a veneer will do the job, he won't reach for a crown. Telling him at the start which teeth already bother you helps him plan the order of work.

What happens once the final teeth are in?

You move into protection and maintenance. Dr. Farahnik checks the bite once you've lived with it, makes fine adjustments and, if you grind, fits a custom night guard.

Regular reviews

From then on, checkups focus on gum health, wear on the new surfaces and any early signs of trouble. Catching a small problem early keeps it small. The finished work is designed to last, but it lasts longest with steady care.

How should you plan the days with surgery?

Keep the rest of the day light. If your plan includes extractions or implants, those visits ask more of you than the restorative ones, and some soreness afterward is normal.

Living in Sylmar, you're home soon after, which helps. Ask Dr. Farahnik when you book how soon he'd like you back to exercise or heavy work in your case, and stock soft foods before the appointment. Other visits in the plan are far easier to schedule around.

Will the new restorations last the rest of your life?

Not necessarily. Restorations can chip, wear or need replacing over time, especially with grinding, sugary diets or skipped checkups.

Good care helps them last longer. Regular cleanings, a night guard if you grind, and prompt attention to small problems all help. Dr. Farahnik will explain what upkeep your particular mix of restorations needs.

How often will you need checkups afterward?

Dr. Farahnik will set a schedule based on your gum health and the type of restorations you have. Some patients need visits more often than before treatment.

Those visits check the gums, the fit of each restoration and any signs of wear. Catching a small chip or early gum problem when it's minor keeps the repair minor too.
