Full Mouth Reconstruction in Los Angeles, CA
A phased rebuild with every key visit a short trip from Los Angeles.
The short answer
Not every tooth needs a crown in a full mouth reconstruction in Los Angeles. Dr. Farahnik matches each tooth to the least it needs, from bonding to an onlay, crown or implant, and keeps as much healthy tooth as he can. Plans are made at our Los Angeles office, northwest of Los Angeles.

Full Mouth Reconstruction
How do you know if you need full mouth reconstruction in Los Angeles?
You find out at an exam. Dr. Farahnik checks your teeth, gums, bite and existing dental work, then tells you whether a full rebuild makes sense or whether a smaller plan would do.
Several signs tend to point toward a whole-mouth plan: teeth that have worn short, many old crowns or fillings breaking at the edges, more than one missing tooth, or a bite that feels uneven when you chew. One broken tooth on its own rarely calls for it.

Is there an age limit for rebuilding the whole mouth?
No fixed age applies. What counts is your general health, the condition of your teeth and gums, and whether you can manage a series of visits and good daily care.
Older patients often have the longest history of dental work, which is part of why reconstructions are common later in life. Younger adults with severe wear or inherited enamel problems may need one too. The exam, not the birthday, decides.

What part does the dental lab play?
The lab turns the approved design into finished restorations. Dr. Farahnik sends it records of your trial teeth, so the finals copy shapes you've already tested in daily life.
Why that handoff matters
A reconstruction stands or falls on detail: how edges meet, how the back teeth support the bite, how shade blends from tooth to tooth. Clear records reduce guesswork. When finals arrive, Dr. Farahnik checks them against the plan before placing anything.

Do you still need cleanings during a reconstruction?
Yes. Healthy gums are part of what makes new restorations last, so cleanings continue throughout the plan, sometimes more often than before.
They're often timed to coincide with other visits to save you trips. Keeping gums healthy around temporaries can be harder than usual, so the team will show you what to focus on at home.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
Will your bite need adjusting later on?
Sometimes. Teeth and restorations wear slowly over time, and small changes in the bite can build up.
Dr. Farahnik checks your bite at regular visits and can make small adjustments to keep forces even. If you notice a new high spot, jaw soreness or a change in how your teeth meet, call (818) 658-9285.

What's the trade-off of putting treatment off?
Worn and broken teeth tend to keep deteriorating, and problems like decay or gum disease don't usually resolve by themselves. Waiting can mean more teeth need work later.
That doesn't mean you must start now. It means it's worth getting an exam and knowing where things stand. Then you can decide, with a clear plan in hand, when to begin.

Cost & financing
Why do two reconstructions cost such different amounts?
Because they're different jobs. One patient may need most teeth rebuilt with crowns and implants; another may need a mix of bonding and a few onlays.
The number of teeth, the material for each, the preparation needed, the lab's part and supporting care like a night guard all vary. Comparing plans only makes sense when you compare what's in them.
What affects the cost? How many teeth are treated, which materials are used, and what preparation or supporting care your plan needs.

Am I too old for a full mouth reconstruction?
There's no fixed age limit. Your general health, the condition of your teeth and gums and your ability to manage the visits and daily care matter more.
How should I plan my first visit from Los Angeles?
Allow time for a thorough exam and planning appointment, plus about 19 minutes in light traffic each way. Bring your medication list and any recent X-rays, and call (818) 658-9285 if you have questions about getting here.
What materials are used to rebuild teeth?
Composite, ceramic onlays, crowns, porcelain veneers and implant crowns are all common. Each tooth gets the material that suits its job, and everything is designed to match in shade and fit.
Will I need implants as part of my plan?
Only if teeth are missing or can't be saved and implants suit your bone and health. Bridges and partial dentures are alternatives. Dr. Farahnik explains the options for each gap.
Is full mouth rehabilitation the same thing?
Yes, the terms are used interchangeably, along with full mouth restoration. All describe a planned rebuild of most or all teeth, with attention to how the bite works as a whole.
